The Foundations Christmas Furniture Appeal 2025

The festive period is a time for giving but sadly, more and more people in our community are struggling with poverty. Rising costs of food and energy have made things even tougher for families and individuals trying to get by.

One simple way to help ease some of that pressure is by donating your unwanted, pre-loved furniture. Your donations can make a real difference, helping more people enjoy a comfortable and settled home life this winter.

Here in Gateshead, Foundations Furniture accepts furniture donations all year round to ease furniture poverty in the community. Our charity shop on Askew Road West in Teams offers a welcoming space for households in need to choose essential items, with deliveries often arranged within just a few days. The team are supporting more people than ever who are in crisis and winter always makes things that bit harder.

By donating furniture or appliances to Foundations between now and Christmas, you’ll be helping to provide essential items like beds, sofas and storage for local households. These things make a huge difference to someone’s quality of life, especially for children who need a safe, comfortable place to call home.

Each year, there are some amazing appeals across Gateshead that focus on helping people in poverty during the Christmas season. Many collect food, clothing and gifts for children.
