Easing Furniture Poverty with Every Donated Item
We collect your donated items from any address in and around Gateshead. Each item is used by our charity to help local people create safe, settled and comfortable home lives during times of hardship and/or crisis.
Affordable, pre-loved furniture, kitchen appliances and small electrical items for anyone affected by financial hardship. We provide a range of quality, low-cost new beds, mattresses and wardrobes too.
Update your CV or come along to support your community and make friends. Volunteers can take advantage of our free job-readiness support too, including free work boots, and help with travel costs to and from our charity.
About Us
Foundations began as a small community project to support the Dunston and Teams community affected by financial hardship in the mid 90's.
We soon identified the wider need for a community furniture service across the Borough of Gateshead, and our small part time project, quickly grew into a full time charity supporting thousands of people each year.
Our dedicated team of volunteers, staff and Trustees are passionate about alleviating the impact of furniture poverty, so that people and families can lead safe, settled and comfortable home lives.
